BelleRaine Goldens is located 30 minutes northeast of Atlanta, Georgia. We are committed to owning and producing only the finest family companions for the discriminating golden lover. As true hobby breeders, we own a very small number of Goldens that we have carefully selected to share our home and our hearts.

While we have exhibited our dogs in conformation and obedience, their primary "occupation" is to play with our two daughters, accompany us on walks and outings to the lake, and help relieve our stress at the end of the day. Their love and devotion to our family is endless, and we repay them in kind.

Since we do not raise Goldens as a business, but as a labor of love, we only plan for two litters a year. From these litters, we lovingly bring puppies into the world who will become cherished family members just like their parents. Of these puppies, one or two may spend a part their lives competing in events. Yet ALL of these puppies were bred to be outstanding representatives of the breed, and ALL are champions, with or without titles.

When looking to breed one of our Goldens, we make our decisions carefully based on his or her adherence to the breed standard in conformation and temperament. Individual characteristics of sire and dam are weighed carefully to produce a sound, beautiful, and intelligent companion. Our goldens possess moderate to heavy coats (very light golden to golden) with correct texture, substantial bone, and beautiful heads.

Health and temperament are paramount here at Belleraine. All of our Goldens possess exemplary temperaments, the hallmark of the breed, and are gentle and trustworthy with both children and other animals. In addition, they are highly intelligent and have strong retrieving instincts.

BelleRaine will only breed adults that have passed the following health clearances :

HIPS/ELBOWS: Cleared and registered by OFA (Orthopedic Foundation For Animals) and / or PennHIP (Pennsylvania Hip Improvement Program) to be free of genetic hip dysplasia.

EYES: Cleared and registered by CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation) to be free of hereditary eye disorders.

HEARTS: Cleared and registered by OFA to be free from SAS (Sub aortic Stenosis), a hereditary heart disorder.

All of the above health clearances are provided by specialists who are board certified in radiology, cardiology, and opthalmology, not our local vet!

It is of the utmost importance to us that we produce a sound, healthy pet as well as a beautiful one. We want our Goldens to live long, happy lives with their new families, free of any life threatening or debilitating diseases.
